Course Overview

Conflict management is an inevitable facet of the HR function.

Course benefits

In this illuminating program, you will uncover the role of conflict in a workplace culture and learn both conflict mediation and conflict management techniques and when to use them for workplace disputes. You will explore how conflict happens, how the brain reacts to conflict and why people react differently when conflict occurs. You will build your conflict management skills by applying a three-step conflict mediation process to multiple real-life scenarios. And you will leave this program with concrete tactics you can use to help reduce the level of conflict at your organisation.

Programme leader

Martin Lee holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Lancaster University Management School (UK) and is a Senior Certified Professional with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

He also holds an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) and is a certified PROSCI Change Practitioner, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Strong Interest Inventory (SII), as well as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF). 

With more than 15 years of corporate and regional HR experience spanning the public sector, health care, Oil & Gas, and EdTech industries, Martin is a passionate trainer and facilitator who seeks to create a learning environment in his workshops where learners discover, engage, internalise and are able to benefit practically from what they have learnt. Martin was a speaker at SHRM’s Global HR conferences in Chicago (2018) and Las Vegas (2019), and has served as a Subject Matter Expert in SHRM’s exam development efforts since 2016. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, nature walks and volunteering as a career coach with the Catholic Business Network. 


Thomas Yeo enables Enterprise Human Capital Transformation and Development using A.I. and Data Science, and helps enterprises improve their business processes, plan for organisation development and value creation through customer-centric focus. He adopts the “Design Thinking” methodology in analysing, developing and implementing HRM and HRD systems and process, developing talent and people capability through a systematic approach of skills identification, talent development, learning and development, and performance management.

Thomas is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and IHRP Senior Professional (IHRP-SP), Certified Productivity Professional, Certified Service Design Thinking Facilitator, Certified Virtual Presenter – eSpeakers. He is also an adjunct faculty with SUSS, Sasin School of Management, Chulalongkorn University, SHRI Academy and IAL.
